Spin-off stimulation from Academia

TSI, through the University of Twente in the Netherlands, has an over 20 years experience with the execution of a very successful new knowledge based companies stimulation programme (TOP).

Content

The TOP–programme (Temporary Entrepreneurial Positions) stimulates entrepreneurship on Campus. It offers a comprehensive package to people with a business idea that needs more support before entering the market. This support consists of:

• Housing during one year on campus.
• Access to know-how and facilities in a university research group.
• Mentoring and training.
• Financial support through loans from a well developed revolving fund construction.

Results

Through TOP over 300 new knowledge based firms were realised over a period of 20 years. More than 2.500 new jobs were created.
